"New Italians" absent major in film and TV

, among a thousand obstacles and difficulties begin to find the right space in the media phenomenon of the "new Italians", ie the thousands of children of migrants born in Italy, raised in Italy, graduates in Italy, claiming equal rights and opportunities far from being fully recognized. But the movies and on television as they are told and represented these "new Italians"? The answer is not particularly encouraging. Yes, because Italians seem that children of migrants do not have citizenship on our screens.
Not that the issue of immigration can not find the space it deserves. On the contrary, even the examples abound. It all started with Lamerica of Gianni Amelio, the first Italian film to speak, in 1994 of "ships of shame", and goes fast Vens of Carlo Mazzacurati , the story of a prostitute immigrant from Czechoslovakia attracted by glittering window displays of our West. The conversation then continued, including comedies and dramas, with badanti (l’Olga di Io, loro e Lara  di Carlo Verdone , interpretata da Olga Balan ), cameriere (magari pure ladre, come accade a Laura Vasiliu in Il resto della notte ),  giovani indiane, cinesi e africane, moderne eredi di “Giulietta”, alle prese con amori tormentati dai pregiudizi razziali ( Bianco e nero , Questa notte è ancora nostra , Oggi sposi ). Anche la fiction televisiva non si è tirata indietro, anzi con Butta la luna ha messo al centro il personaggio di Cosima, proprio una “nuova italiana” nata dalla relazione tra a Nigerian girl and an Italian technician: pity though that the producers have chosen for the part of the Italian Chiara Conti and daughter of an Italian immigrant aliens, as the subject would suggest (lack of courage?).
The truth is that in most cases, unfortunately, dominate the stories of first generation migrants. The second generation is forgotten. On time. As we wait to see the protagonist of a fiction series a "Marshal Rocca" or a "family doctor" nero, che magari parla italiano con una splendida inflessione dialettale lombarda o romanesca? Sarebbe il trionfo della nuova Italia, fondata sul mix di culture.
Sul blog Afroitaliani/e ho letto la testimonianza di una comparsa che fa riflettere: “Spesso – si legge nelle parole di Fred Kuwornu , attore e autore televisivo, nato a Bologna da madre italiana e padre ghanese - pur avendo un accento emiliano, mi è stato chiesto (nella fiction   Un papà quasi perfetto   with Michele Placido) of acting with emphasis explicitly "African": a confirmation of the fact that the only roles conceived and requested by the productions currently are only those of immigrants. " The film continues to tell the multicultural society showing only one dimension: the immigrant, of course, mostly in a state of alienation, discomfort, discrimination. We have a new army of Italians who could play the roles of students, nurses, businessmen, doctors, engineers, and yet nothing. What we waiting for? Out some 'courage and imagination! Let's stop looking to the past. There a new Italy that is already born and waiting to be told. Just go and find out ...
